Add a Level Plans
One of our most popular Home Remodel project style involves working with cape cod homes. Located all throughout New Jersey, cape cod style homes offer a great base to create a larger, customized home for growing families.
Notice the BASEMENT floor plan above. This is a typical cape measuring appriximately 30′ across by 24′ front to back. The original staircase is located mid left side and not a good position when considering a new Add a level. So as you can see, the floor plan showS relocating the staircase towards the front door. Both the basement staircase and the staircase leading up to the second level will be relocated just inside the front door.
At the rear of the home, we are adding a 12′ multi level addition across the entire rear of this house. The end result will be an open floor plan allowing us to remove the entire existing rear wall of this house. This will provide for a full open kitchen and family room.
Basement Floor Plan
Since we have the basement floor plan shown above, this home currently has a finished basement. We will be stripping it down for a major renovation as well. The majority of this basement will be used as a recreation room for the family. We balance it out with storage and a half bath as well as a relocated utility room.

In this basement, prior to the remodeling of this entire home, we had to install new structural footings and relocated the bathroom piping below the floor. This basement also received a french drain around the perimeter of the basement leading to a dual style sump pump.
Cape Cod Floor Plans
If you own a cape cod home and are interested in adding a second floor add a level, then we can provide custom plans tailored to your families needs.
Above is a sample of a recent cape cod home conversion that we completed in Bergenfield New Jersey. This entire home was completely renovated. The original structure was 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. After the remodel, it became 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms and an upstairs laundry.

Above you can see the new floor plan. It consists of 3 bedrooms/ 2 bathrooms and a laundry. Also notice the open 2 level foyer. Its an amazing floor plan that this young New Jersey family will enjoy for years to come.

David Pangione is a 3rd generation builder. David grew up in a family of 4 boys during the 70’s, Dave says “ mom would ship me off to work with dad as early as 5 years old. I grew up on job sites with dad as he built thousands of homes in the tri state area. It is during these years that I learned building inside and out.”
